[ she isn’t avoiding him. he’ll have noticed her haunting his shadow, probably, but as she’s more certain he’s alive, she’s been letting the distance grow. space. something.
anyway, in lieu of Alina’s post about school -]
You’re still - my legal guardian. Or whatever. Right? [right?]
[And he's aware of her keeping tabs on him. Keenly. For someone as explosive as Jinx, few would really be able to appreciate how quiet she can be when she wants to. But Silco both gets it and, for the most part, knows what her presence feels like.]
Legal?
[It's a good question, actually; there isn't much in the way of paperwork when it comes to adopting the daughter of the brother you murdered.
There's a thoughtful pause, a faint clicking sound from his mouth as he pressing his tongue slowly over the flats of his teeth.]
If de facto makes it so, then yes, I suppose I am.
[But since when have they cared about legalities?]
[The audible puff of breath isn't intentional; it might be some relief that it isn't followed by an unprompted hiss of frustration, aimed elsewhere. They're there, though. The ghosts. Lurking in the edges of her peripheral vision, quiet in their envy of Silco being flesh and blood. At least, she's sure that's what it is. ]
They're talking about school. Folks my age. I don't wanna go. [There, she's said it. She doesn't need Mylo's grotesque figure to say anything: she already knows what he's thinking. They don't accept psychos like you anyway. Whatever. ] So if they ask, I'm gonna tell them you're my - my dad or whatever - and you tell them I don't need to do that. I graduated a prodigy already or somethin'.
[She's curled in on herself now. She sighs, softly. ] Please.
And how might my potential concern be more appropriately represented to you?
If she failed to obtain the items then there is no compensation to offer. If physical damage was sustained in her attempt then you may once again bill me.
But I am under the impression you want something else from me and I am failing to satisfy you. So what is it you want exactly, Dr. Stephen Strange?
I was hoping for some apparent understanding that her activities are endangering herself and others so that I could be reassured you would attempt to curtail them without a need to involve any authorities.
That's irrelevant. But you can Google me if you like.
[ If he does there will be Stephen's OurPowers account and one or two corners of the internet dedicated to following his activities, though the most prevalent information will be articles about the cursed basement fiasco, photographs from the distance of two figures stood in the front yard of the old manor, arms raised and palms glowing amber and green respectively, and the great glowing spell covering the house beyond to keep the danger from spreading.
Jinx is committing crimes. That's not usually my area of concern, but those crimes involve magical elements and are putting herself and others at risk. If she does not stop committing those crimes, or interfering with those magical elements, people including herself could get hurt.
If this doesn't concern you, I'll have to speak with somebody it does. That's all there is. Any questions?
My, my. Aren't we used to assuming the authority of our voice carries through a room.
I will offer you some friendly advice in kind: I give threats the same amount of attention and focus as I do childish tantrums, which is none. If you wish to speak about Jinx to me in earnest, then I encourage you to reconsider your approach in the future.
And until then, your concern and indignation have been duly noted, Dr. Strange.

Why do you ask?

Dr. Stephen Strange, text.
[ He has no idea what the actual set-up is here or whether or not this is, in fact, a prank, but he's been linked to this contact so here he goes. ]

Am I to understand that won't be happening?

Says the man who has, without any kind of introduction, taken it upon himself to contact me with his concerns about Jinx as if I do not know her.
So I would say who you are is extremely relevant.
Jinx is committing crimes. That's not usually my area of concern, but those crimes involve magical elements and are putting herself and others at risk. If she does not stop committing those crimes, or interfering with those magical elements, people including herself could get hurt.
